Status
In development, not yet available
This is our own platform work, not a client project. Bones 9 is in development and is not generally available, and there is no release date. The core is being built and specified in stages, and each part is reviewed before it is approved.
01 · The problem
The same facts, kept in too many places
Websites tend to grow into pages, databases, integrations and structured-data scripts that are all maintained separately. The same facts end up in several versions, page templates decide what content can look like, and machine-readable information drifts out of date.
Bones 8.0, our own PHP platform, already generates pages and structured data from one set of content for the sites we build today. Bones 9 takes that further, as a full application on Laravel.
02 · What we are building
Your own content model, governed by the platform
In Bones 9, an organisation defines the types of information it manages, such as services, projects, case studies, people or locations, with their own fields and the relationships between them. Records are created against that model, reviewed and then published.
The same records then drive:
- the public website
- feeds and integrations
- machine-readable output: Schema.org JSON-LD and AIDI summaries
- export and import
An audit trail records who changed and published what.
03 · How it fits together
One core, with a portal and a console around it
The core is the part every site runs on. Around it, a customer portal is being designed for client organisations and a staff console for our team.
Until Bones 9 is ready, the sites we build run on Bones 8.0. Read how Bones developed from 8.0 to 9.0.
