The Challenge
Purelake needed a modern business website that not only represented their business well but could also be maintained internally by their team.
The original site was built entirely on WordPress, which worked at first, but within two to three years the platform became unstable and difficult to manage. Security vulnerabilities, plugin conflicts, and ongoing maintenance issues created constant headaches. The website eventually broke down to the point where it no longer reflected the quality of the business, and a complete rebuild was required.
The challenge was clear: deliver a new website that looked modern and professional, reduced security risks, and still allowed the client to manage key areas such as their blog, case studies, and homepage content without relying on external support for every update.
Our Solution
We approached the rebuild with a hybrid strategy that combined flexibility with stability. Using Relume and Figma, we designed new wireframes and a fresh interface that captured Purelake’s brand identity while improving usability.
The core of the site was developed on our DBETA Bones Framework 6.0, which provided a fast, secure, and low-maintenance foundation. To give the client the editing flexibility they wanted, we integrated specific sections with WordPress — including the blog, case studies, and the hero section on the homepage. This meant Purelake retained control over their content while avoiding the problems caused by relying too heavily on plugins and a fully WordPress-based build.
The Results
The result was a modern, reliable, and professional website that continues to serve the business effectively. Purelake can easily update and maintain their key content, while the framework ensures the rest of the site remains secure, stable, and free from the ongoing issues that plagued their original build.
By moving away from a plugin-heavy WordPress setup to a hybrid solution, we eliminated the constant maintenance concerns, reduced security risks, and provided the business with a platform built to last.
